Our Story

Tim Medema, our creative leader, began his career in 1991 as an apprentice in the events industry. He quickly gained the knowledge of every aspect of fabrication through the mentoring of seasoned veterans.

 

Tim along with his wife Maria, realized his dream of crafting masterpieces.  In their humble beginning they launched Abitzy Inc. out of their home garage in 2008.

 

Through years of continued excellence, stellar customer service, and consistent quality of work, Abitzy has grown exponentially. Originally operated out of 2 locations totaling up to 55,000 sq. ft. in Wood Dale, IL. Abitzy has since expanded as of June 1st, 2023, and upgraded to a new 88,000 sq. ft. facility in Aurora, IL.

In 2008, Abitzy, Inc. was founded by owners Tim & Maria Medema in a garage in Lake In the Hills, IL 

2008
Abitzy Grows & Adds Warehouse

  • Abitzy, Inc. opens 1st warehouse - 900 Sq Ft in Lake In the Hills, IL

  • Moved to 5,000 sq ft location in Addison in order to grow fabrication capabilities.

  • Moved to 18,000 sq ft location in Lombard, in order to enhance/grow fabrication, added storage/warehousing capabilities.

  • Expanded Lombard location

​

  • Move to Wood Dale- due to sale of Lombard facility. 

2011
COVID-19 Business Pivot

When COVID-19 hit in 2020 and with tradeshows and exhibitions cancelled nationwide, Abitzy pivoted to producing PPE materials and opened a second facility in Elk Grove Village, IL for fabrication & storage growth. 

2020
NEW Facility & Warehouse

In June 2023, Abitzy opened the doors of its current location, a new combined office and warehouse facility. This 88,000 sq ft facility located in Aurora, IL provides space for custom fabrication on site, plus warehouse and storage space, as well as all office support staff on site for an all-in-one, industry-leading project management and custom wholesale fabrication services experience for our clients.

Our Facilities

Abitzy is now utilizing one 88,000 sq. ft. location featuring soaring 35' ceilings that create a spacious and inspiring atmosphere, perfect for fostering creativity and innovation! We have designated space for fabrication, warehouse/interior electronic & portable storage, rentals, and booth set-ups/viewings. To ensure maximum efficiency in the shipping and handling of your finished products, this facility comes equipped with four inbound and four outbound loading docks.

 

Fabrication Shop

Our designated Shop Area is equipped with a 20-carpenter bench arrangement where we make your dreams come to life. Meet with us to discuss your ideas and our fabrication team will create high quality builds for your every need. 

 

Storage Warehouse

With our available pallet rack storage, you will rest assured that your builds will be stored in a safe and secure location. We now feature an interior storage space to encompass any of your portables and electronics with extreme care.

 

Front Office 

At our brand new facility in Aurora, IL, we created a front office that is attached to our extensive fabrication and storage areas in the back of our shop. We designed the shop this way to support the exact needs and wants of our customers. Our front office is equipped with designated teams who are responsible for Project Management, Estimation, Sales, and Marketing, to streamline the production and delivery of our product. This business structure is uncommon in the fabrication industry and we can assure you that there is no other competitor out there that offers all of these services. As we've grown as a company, this sector of our business has proven to create a more fluid and reliable process for our customers. Whether it is a "turnkey" or an "A La Carte" project, our teams work with you through every step to ensure the utmost quality of experience.
